Hvaaaa såååå Roskilde!!!!!
The tent was bought in 1978 and stems from The Rolling Stones Tour of ’76. Here in 2014 they’re once again on stage, which neatly wraps that story up.
Irrespective of whoever plays on the stage, it has become an iconic symbol for the town and festival. It wouldn’t surprise me if we would once meet again and again and again and raise our glasses to our friends, the others and not least the Orange Scene.
Roskilde Festival is the largest North European culture and music festival and has existed since 1971. We are a non-profit organisation consisting of about 50 full-time employees and thousands of volunteers.
During the festival the number of volunteers increases to about 32,000. The volunteers staff the festival stalls, build stages, provide camping security etc.
Roskilde Festival Charity Society is the organiser of Roskilde Festival. The purpose of the society is to support initiatives benefitting children and young people and to support humanitarian and cultural work. The society's work is independent of party politics and has no geographical borders.
Roskilde Festival is non-profit. That means we’re donating all profits to charity after each festival. We support humanitarian, cultural and non-profit projects all over the world.
When you buy a ticket to Roskilde Festival or volunteer at the festival, you are a part of increasing the quality of life for many people around the world. Thanks for that!
Since 1971 Roskilde Festival has generated approx. € 26.4 million (2013) to Doctors without Borders, Amnesty International, Support the Victims in Iraq, Save the Children and The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and many more organisations.
Roskilde Festival Charity Society is the association behind and organiser of Roskilde Festival. Roskilde Festival Charity Society receives practically all its funds from the annual Roskilde Festival.
Roskilde Festival Charity Society does not accept applications for donations. We identify the projects and initiatives we want to support to ensure synergy between the festival's core values, focus areas and donations.
