Wooden Ostrich from The Zoo Collection. The original idea for these fun and mobile animals came from the painter Bengt Koch.

During the end of the Second World War he created wooden, painted animals for his children. Many years later, Bengt's grandson continued where he left, and redesigned the wooden toys to become high-end collectable design-items for decor in the home.
This was a time when materials were scarcley available, and people were required to recycle and re-use the things close to them.
